(with a little help from his son)
I didn’t have time to write the report myself so i had to dictate it to my son on the phone from work.
Here it is:
I b leave Im rite n sayin this was 2 b Niffs 1st time as hare nd she maid a gr8 f foot wen u fink she set the run or as it shall now b known as the NIFFATHON on wat shirley must av bin 1 o the wettest Monday eves eva recorded in the histry of the world eva.
Niff x-planed that ther were a phew xtra symbols 2 note nd drew them in the car park b for we started. A shamrock ment that we had to say an irish greetin 2 sum 1 and a 4 leaf clover d noted that we had 2 do n irish dance. We wer intrupted at this point by the usual latecomers – u no who u r!
There were a few vergins not quite sure how many as i was nt payin attention nd also a topless man. I fink it may be 2 do wiv nipple rub or summat but im not 2 sure.
Any ways the wether was fine and we headded of east down marlow rd, soon to turn rite in 2 a field nd then down hill to checkers lane. We then continued the NIFFATHON up the south face of mount everest, locally none as hanger wood nd then back down from where we came or so it seemed 2 wards Hanger Farm. That must be the steepest hill in HWH3 history. Along Fingest Lane there was sum confusion as 2 the long short split which ended wiv the longs doin a false trail only 2 eventually return to the group 4 the real split. The shorts continued up Fingest Lane and then left up another hill (bet Mick was pleased) to near Cadmore End.
The brave longs turned rite to continue the NIFFATHON up Hanover Hill (yes another hill!) nd along by Long Copse to Bolter End Farm. At this point the longs were taking bets on wot time they would eventually return to the pub if at all. Most were just hoping 2 make it back sometime be4 eleven.
About this point of the NIFFATHON Ade commented that Niff must have read Ken’s acclaimed book on hash setting.
The group summoned the courage to continue nd now at least were headin back in the general direxion of the pub. At the Peacock we were sent rite nd under the M40 be 4 turnin left thru the woods to Cadmore End Common, where we crossed ova the M40. The pace now quickened as we sensed that we were now on the home stretch as we crossed Marlow rd 4 the last time and rounded Cadmore End Village and there it was the ON INN sign wot a releaf.
Well done Nif on setting ur 1st run.
