|Beer: ||Nice to find unusual ales - Oakham 5 Leaves Left & Poppy Otter, both above the plimsoll line with Young's Very Ordinary trailing in behind. No mutterings from Hawkeye so the beer must have been & was most acceptable at about £3.80 a scoop.|
|Not beer: ||Difficult to determine the exact price of the fizzy stuff with various of our number suggesting different amounts but the concencus, if there was one, seems to be £2.80 for a pint of pump coke/pepsi.|
|Food ||Tasty, tasty, very very tasty, they were very tasty. The delight was somewhat put on hold by the fact that they had been nuked and were 3,000 deg.C. Hashers seen expelling heat, fanning furiously and possibly ejecting a chip into a pint. Served in dinky school style picnic boxes. Bring on the short trousers & gymslips!|
|Hashmosphere ||Nice welcome from Manageress and an area sort of to ourselves although it was a bit of a shoehorn in for the troops. Not a RogerThon so all in all pretty pleasurable.|
On the now practically defunct old road into Wendover, replete with tumbleweed, the King & Queen is a pub which has been driven past on many an occasion. A fairly small car park, not helped by encroaching hoarding from an adjacent development. Inside, however, a very decent boozer without the dubious merits of a hoard of locals. Well done to Whipping Boy & Mrs. WB for unearthing a virgin and very reasonable venue.
